Now I know I didn't say this is a news site but I thought this post would be important. I was really sad when I heard Kirby may have been canceled for good, but now that it is reconfirmed I am happy again. The most surprising on the list is Pokemon Ranger and Link's Crossbow Training. (Mystery Dungeon 2 isn't out anywhere else). I thought it was interesting that Nintendo reconfirmed those games we are all looking forward to playing this year! If you are wondering about Wii Sports, the game wasn't included with the Wii in Japan, but they still count it as a copy of the game sold.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Final Character Roster

I have put the image in a thumbnail as to snot really spoil any of you since I can't really hide images. This is the final character roster, but there is 1 more character apparently not on the roster yet, which we will probably find out soon.

I suggest everyone go preorder Brawl now, because there is a shortage of the game in Japan, and that shortage may continue over into the US even though the game isn't due out here till March 9th, so be prepared for the worst!

I got the Flu

Well, apparently I haven't gotten a call back when I'm supposed to go in for training for that job, so I dunno. Anyway, apparently I have a case of the Flu, and what's worse is when I start freezing cold or get a massive headache. I keep taking Tylenol and it works for a couple of hours, but other than that I don't know when it will go away.

Oh well I hope I get better soon because I can't stand being sick!!!

I got a job!!!

Hey yall,

I got a part-time job running a Carousel(It's a double decker) at Memorial City Mall here in Houston. A lady called me about it after she saw my post on Craigslist. So if yall are having trouble finding a job, you should try Craigslist, I've gotten many calls even though none of them suited me. I was just looking for something simple. Anyways, what this means is that I won't be updating much during the early day because the job is from 9AM - 3PM. But I'll let you all know my schedule once it is confirmed! Wish me luck!!!

I got Zack & Wiki!

Well apparently Zack & Wiki showed up early in the mail. I got it just yesterday when it wasn't due to be delivered until Saturday, which is really odd because I chose free shipping and bought it through Amazon while it was on sale.

Anyway, I'm actually liking this game. When Zack dies it can be hilarious. Anyway, this game may look kiddy and easy, then your perception of the game is totally wrong. The puzzles can take several minutes, even hours(from what I've heard) to figure out and solve. I've already died a couple of times during the puzzles and I've only played 4 or 5 of them. I definitely recommend this game to people who like solving Puzzles and Point-and-Click Adventure fans who liked Phoenix Wright or Hotel Dusk.

I actually like this game a lot so I know it will keep me occupied while I wait for Endless Ocean and No More Heroes to arrive in the future. I am so happy I got a Wii now that all of these games are coming out. Too bad Zack & Wiki didn't do well in sells, so I command all of you to get this game! We need more original IP's like this on the Wii!

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games DS

Well I tried this game and I can tell I really like it actually, so I'm definitely going to get it. Anyway, so far I have finished Archery & 100 Meter dash with all of the characters, and I even uploaded Archery to the leader boards and I'm #336 in the world :D. I really wasn't expecting much from this game but it seems really interesting, those of you who passed the Wii title do the control might want to take a chance with the DS version. Also make sure you get a screen protector since every event uses the touch screen; so far my Hori protector has held up just fine over the past couple of months. Definitely check this game out yall! If you already have the game or played it tell me what you think in a comment!

Lucario, Jigglypuff, Ness Playable Characters in Brawl

Well apparently on the video on Nintendo's Japanese site for Wii Commercials (it was just edited a few minutes ago) revealed in a screen at 4:20 the characters of Lucario, Jigglypuff, and Ness on the screens of the sticker categories. The screens were edited out of the video but here are the pics below that show the characters:

Well so what do you think of this awesome find? I'm so happy because I wanted Lucario in Brawl forever and it finally came true!!!

Sonic RPG Nintendo Power Article Scans

I had originally scanned the article for Sonic RPG in Nintendo Power for my brother. Since there are a lot of you out there who don't invest in Nintendo Power but are fans of Sonic I thought I would share them with you. It has screenshots of the game as well as tons of information. Click the links below to see the scans.

Game Reviews are Harsh and too Critical these days...

What do you think about reviews, do they influence your purchase, do they not, do you do something else to figure out if you should get a game? Vote in our poll on the sidebar (sorry its at the bottom of the blog though!)
-----------------------------------------------
Game Reviews are something that many of us frequent to see if a game will be interesting to us, however, the problem with many reviews is their scoring and tactics, and they are really harsh these days (also their credibility is in trouble). Aren't games supposed to be about if they are fun or not? I mean Visuals, Music/Sound, all matter...but not as much as whether the game is fun or not, right?

These days I usually just check out reviews to see what other people out there have to think about games. I can't really take their word for it because everyone has different opinions. Recent controversy on reviews even being credible came up on GameSpot when one of their long time reviewers was let go. Many people believe that this was due to the advertising campaign on the site that was going on for the game...and that the company who made the game threatened to pull their ad campaign because the game was given a low score by the reviewer who was let go. I mean honestly, why even bother paying attention to big name sites out there for game reviews; their reviews could be influenced by companies giving them money to give their game a good review.

Now for my main story I'm going to discuss what I think about the reviews being given at big name sites and magazines out there. I'm starting to notice many games are getting lower scores just because they are a sequel. For instance, multiple times a reviewer at IGN has been deducting points from games just because they are a sequel in the series, even if it's better than one of the previous games. What gives? It's pretty foolish. I never played the first two Metroid Prime games, yet this reviewer decides to deduct points because it's a sequel. He has done this numerous times (I'm sure you readers know who I am talking about) and it's starting to make me lose faith in his credibility as a reviewer. I mean the game should be judged on its own, it shouldn't be judged based on a past game, this is one huge problem in reviews.
There are many complaints that make this review look like a waste of time.

Game reviews are pretty harsh out there, or at least most of the gamers out there would agree with me. I mean do you really give whether or not a game is in HD or has widescreen? That's not really important, what is important is that the game plays good and gives you a good time. If you buy games just because of their graphics then you should really find a better hobby. If you just buy a game based on what it looks like, then chances are you are missing out on most of the games out there. I mean graphics can only go so far.

Reviewers seem to critique games way too harshly. Sonic and the Secret Rings wasn't a bad game, so what gives with their scores? They shouldn't try comparing it to a past Sonic game because it's pretty worthless because many games in a series are different from eachother. I can say that the game was really short, but it was one of the most beautiful games on the Wii, and a step in the right direction for the Sonic series. The control wasn't perfect but it was still better than the travesties of Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog(360/PS3). The game still has awesome music, and even though the story was corny, it just wasn't that bad to be given that low of a score in the first place. These game reviewers need to judge a game based on whether you can play it without any huge errors (like a game ending glitch & control) and whether or not it's fun. They critique way too much on the technical stuff, only true gamers base a game on it's control and whether it's fun, so I guess most of the people who take reviews as if they fit them aren't true gamers, just posers.

Games are supposed to be fun, if they rag on every single game out there so harshly the videogame business would probably crash. Honestly, lets give a game a lower score "because it is a sequel". That'll just do the game companies good. I know that some reviewers out there are true to gaming, but if they pitter-patter around with all that technical crap in reviews, the game industry may cease to exist someday. Games should be judged on whether they are fun or not...gaming is about fun, not about being perfect in every way.

Game Reviewers, you really need to change...and if you don't want to, then find a new career based on reviewing TV's since the technical aspects is all you seem to be worried about.

Finished Super Paper Mario

Yeah I know, I should've finished back in April 2007 when I got the game. However, since my standards are if you finish the story you have beaten the game. Maybe someday I will go back and play till I have collected every little Card & Recipe, but for now I'm just gonna give it a rest. But yay for me finishing another game, I'm slowly diminishing the backlog of games I've built up. I know there are some I will probably never be able to finish (Guitar Hero III for instance). Next I think I may pick Metroid Prime 3 back up, I did make alot of progress on that game when I got it but I haven't played it in a while. Oh yeah, Nintendo has added an updated list of games being released in 2008 for the Wii & DS, however this is only a partial list, so don't think a game is canceled because it isn't on this current list! You can see that here! Anyways I'll see yall later!

Pokémon Ranger 2 Screenshots, Art, and Info

  • Missions are obtained at the Ranger Bases or Ranger Union. These are vital for progressing in the game
  • The Sub-Missions, or Quests if you will, are obtained from members of the public in various areas. These do not progress the game but do encourage the Ranger Union to give you upgrades for your Capture Styler as well as many other possible items
  • Not only can you Surf on your Pokémon, but Riding them is more common in this game rather than just in the Challenges in the first game. For example:
    • Running on a Doduo
    • Riding through Lava on a Torkoal
    • Surfing on an Empoleon
    • Flying with a Drifloon
    • Diving Underwater with Mantine
  • The Pokémon above have these as their Pokémon Assists so these are in addition to the Pokémon with Assists that effect Physical objects in-game

Brawl delayed till March 9th, WTF Nintendo!?

Okay Seriously,

Nintendo delayed Brawl a month more, and what really ticks me off, the Japanese version was delayed a freaking week, but the US version a whole MONTH!? What the hell, that is so messed up. What have they been doing the past freaking year, screwing in the computer chairs...I swear. What is with you Nintendo, you delayed it twice, and then shortchange the rest of the world. You jerks!

GoNintendo's Bionic Commando Wii Petition

Well GoNintendo is up to it again, this time with a petition to get the Bionic Commando sequel that is currently scheduled for Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 on the Wii. When Ben Judd was asked about the possibility of the game coming to the Wii, he said the following:

"It will largely depend on what the fans want for the future of Bionic Commando. If the interest is there, of course we want as many people as possible to appreciate this great franchise."

Ben Judd - Capcom

Click here to see the petition information:

I have also added the petition to the sidebar! Thanks to all of you who sign it!!!

Sonic Rush Adventure: Finished

Well I collected the last Chaos Emerald while I was at the Doctor's Office with my mom. Then when I got home I went to all of the Hidden Islands which unlocked the missions to get the Sol Emeralds playing as Blaze. After that it unlocked the final battle sequence, which I can say was actually kinda easy compared to just the main story boss, which was very difficult. If you are one of those Sonic fans who doesn't have this game and wants to see the final battle, you can check out a youtube video here. The missions are ridiculously hard, such as do 30 tricks in like 40 seconds, it's freaking hard! Anyway, I really did enjoy this game and I hope for those of you who do get it will enjoy it as well. Thanks SEGA for making another good handheld Sonic game, can't wait for another game in the Sonic Rush series!

"Pokémon Ranger: Batonnage" Sequel Confirmed!

Yay!!!

A Pokémon Ranger sequel has been confirmed, and it will be released on March 20th, 2008 in Japan. I remember the first Ranger game was released in March 2006 in Japan, and we got it later that October, so I guess we should expect it. I know this isn't a news site, but I am a die-hard fan of Pokémon, so you can expect posts like these coming from me every once in a while. Here are the two scans below and a bit of translated info from the scans:

  • It is set in a region called Arumia with a male protagonist named Hajime, but you can play as either a Male or Female as before; and they have both just graduated from Ranger School.

  • This game features a number of 4th gen Pokémon and seems to have Darkrai as an ominous Pokémon and Lucario, Heatran & Cresselia in support roles

  • You seem to be able to select your partner in this game out of 17 possible combinations. The 17 Pokémon displayed in the magazine which are likely to be the partners are; Munchlax, Kricketot, Mime Jr., Cranidos, Croagunk, Machop, Shieldon, Chimchar, Piplup, Turtwig, Pachirisu, Starly, Snover, Misdreavus, Hippopotas, Sneasel & Gible

  • As well as the missions you get to do in the game, there are optional missions for helping people around in the towns. These are known as Quests

  • There are also cards that boost up your Capture Styler, for example an Electric one which lowers Electric Damage to your styler by 3

  • You seem to be able to Surf on Pokémon in more controlled environments

  • The game will utilize the Nintendo WiFi Connection in some way. (My guess would be for either scores or capture challenges over WiFi.)

  • Game mechanics match the previous game

Please post comments on what you think of this game!

Sonic Rush Adventure Progress

Well I picked Sonic Rush Adventure back up for play. I finished the main story mode, but there was still lots for me to do. So far I have 6 of the 7 Chaos Emeralds, and let me tell you that it was no easy challenge to get to them. I'm so glad I have a screen protector on my DS Lite because I think I would end up destroying it if I didn't. Anyway, I can't get the last Emerald, it's so difficult! So I'm now just playing the missions, which can be pretty simple such as collecting Rings in a certain time limit or annoying like defeating a boss all over again. I also need to get all the Sol Emeralds, which I think you do in the mission mode. This game is different from Sonic Rush, the story is basically played as Sonic, instead of separate stories for both. After a while you can play as Blaze, but it's still not as fun as the first game!!! Hopefully I can add this game to my "DS Games I have Beaten" list before I get anymore DS games. So wish me luck!

Super Mario Galaxy: Luigi

Well even though I know I need to finish my other games, I decided to go play Super Mario Galaxy all over again as Luigi. I don't know why, I just don't have any motivation for those other games. Super Mario Galaxy happens to be my favorite Wii game after all, it was just so awesome to me. I never really liked Mario 64 or Mario Sunshine, but this game I definitely love it! It's one of the best games I've played in my whole 18 years of life, and I can see myself going back to play it for years to come.

So anyways, I guess after a little while I'll try playing Metroid again, but I'm gonna have to give in and look at a guide since I've been stuck on that game for months! I know...boohoo on me for using a guide, but I suck at Adventure games it seems! I may also start playing Pokémon Diamond again and try to get the remaining Johto Pokémon I need, or I may start playing Pearl, just to play through the story again! :D

NiGHTS Progress

Well to be honest, by my standards, I have beat NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. (Which means I finished the story mode with both characters.) I guess however if I wanted to be a completist, I could go back and try and get A Ranks on every stage, and collect all the Dream Drops and other things. Basically if I collect these things it is supposed to unlock musical soundtracks or something of the sort. But anyway, I can at least be glad to say that I finished NiGHTS before I got anymore games!!! Now I just need to work on some of my other games too, like Super Paper Mario & Zelda: TP...if I could get the motivation to actually play those games!

NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams Progress

Well I started playing NiGHTS some more for several hours straight. The game is actually very very short. Some of you may want to wait for a price drop. I finished playing Will's story in just a couple of hours. Now I am playing Helen's story. Sometimes the missions can be challenging, some of you may like it. The game also has a My Dream feature as well as a Racing mode over Nintendo Wi-Fi. I like the game and I guess I could say its worth the $50 to me, but I still think SEGA should've delayed it to work on the in-game graphics. The CGI is so beautiful but the graphics of the game actually suffer a bit too much. There is no excuse for it to not look as good as Sonic and the Secret Rings! Anyway, it sounds like I'm complaining. I like the hole flying thing, thats why I can say the game is amazing to me as well, but most others who played the original would probably say the old game was better. I don't know, but I can see myself coming back to play this game constantly since it's short and doesn't take long to beat. I'm trying to finish it before I get anymore other games so wish me luck!

Upcoming Wii Games I'm Looking Forward To

Well they do this at many websites, but since this is just me here it will be my opinions on why I want upcoming games that are coming out. I'll probably do more features like this in the future since there are tons of games we still don't know about. So here is what I think on some of the upcoming games for the Wii. (In order by release)

Endless Ocean (January 21, 2008)
I'm really looking forward to this game as something I can play to relax and make me not feel bored when I get tired of my other games. The exploring sounds interesting and so does the music. Exploring the ocean would be better if we could take pictures of the life we discover in the ocean, but I guess it won't be too bad. Plus, you can dive with a friend via Nintendo WiFi Connection and use your own music, though I think the calm and soothing music in the game is what you should probably try to find. Anyway, the game is out January 21st, and I already have my copy preordered. It's only $30 and it looks great, I can't wait!

No More Heroes (January 22, 2008)

Well, it seems that recent updates to Amazon and other retailers sites say that Suda51's anime crazed assassin game will be out by the end of January! This is probably so it doesn't get overlooked by Brawl. I'm interested in this game because it is sort of a hack-n-slash but it is really bizarre style of gameplay. I like the way Suda51 thinks about what makes a great game and that it doesn't always have to be normal to be fun and cool. My brother is getting this game for me, it got good ratings from Famitsu, so I don't see how it can be bad (even though not a single Japanese lined up for it on release day in Japan, SHAME ON THEM!)

Super Smash Bros. Brawl (February 10, 2008)
Do I really need to explain why I'm interested in this game? Probably not, but I guess I can say some things. For one, it will have WiFi play with random players and your friends, which makes it an instant buy for any Smash fan! Also, all of the new things they are doing with the series, co-op, even over WiFi sounds awesome. New ways to collect trophies, and also the introduction of assist trophies like the Poké Balls of the past games. This game will probably be one of, if not the best games of all time, and will surely be played for years to come! I just wish it was released on December 3rd, because then I would be playing it instead of writing how eager I am to play this game!!!

I was planning to write about Mario Kart Wii & Disaster: Day of Crisis but we still don't know much about those games, so I'll save that for another time. Let me know what games you are interested in and why in a comment!

LifeSigns: Surgical Unit Progress

Well, I've been playing LifeSigns like crazy lately, and I made it pretty far over my short little trip to Austin over the weekend. Right now I'm stuck at Professor Sawai's heart surgery. Basically I have to cut him open and pull a pen out of his heart, and then Suzu sutures it up automatically. That is the easy part. The hard part is having to restart his heart by using the AED. It starts going so fast, and you have to press the L & R buttons simultaneously when the energy is within the heart. If you don't do it at the right moment you can hurt the heart even more and he will die. It's so hard! I guess I just need a little break for a while, which is why I'm taking the time to tell you about my progress. Anyway I hope to finish this part and move on in the game!

*Edit* I finished the game!!! ^_^

Happy New Year 2008!!!

I just wanted to wish all of you out there a Happy New Year and I hope its a better year for everyone out there. I celebrated with a Strawberry Daquiri here at home. My dog came up at to me at exactly 12 AM, it's a good sign I think. Anyways, what are your resolutions and your gaming resolutions?

One of my normal resolutions would be a common one to try and lose this gut I've built up from sitting on my butt for a year. My gaming resolution would be to try and finish all of the games I get this year during this same year, whether for DS or Wii.

Happy New Year to you All!!!
