Trauma Team announced by Atlus for 2010

The other day, screens from a recent game called Hospital appeared in Famitsu magazine from Japan. Oddly enough, the game looked liked Trauma Center, and it turns out it's from the same team. The game has been announced for release in Spring 2010 under the title "Trauma Team" for the Wii.

But, instead of just bizarre surgeries, you get to play as many different kinds of doctors specializing in certain skills. You select a character from the beginning and go through their story.

Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing announced

Get ready for the ultimate racing showdown with Sonic and his SEGA friends!

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (May 28th, 2009) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® America, Inc., today announced Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, a fast and furious battle to the finish line in this supercharged racer. Developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, the home video game system, Wii™ and the Nintendo DS™ system, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing will speed into stores in early 2010.

In a frantic battle to the chequered flag, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sees Sonic and friends speed around tracks set in mediaeval castle ramparts, lush rainforests and bustling cities, all taken from the visually rich and varied universes of Sonic and SEGA. Fan favourites such as Dr. Eggman, Tails, AiAi, Amigo and many more will join Sonic in their custom built vehicles, revving their engines and jostling to stay ahead of the pack. Each character will race around the track in cars, planes, motorbikes, and in AiAi’s case – a banana mobile! Secret short cuts, swift handling and avoiding strategically placed obstacles are certainly the best way to get to the top of the podium.

“Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing is no ordinary racing game. Its huge variety of characters and vehicles, plus the ability to play both online and off set it apart from other games of this type” commented Gary Knight European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe Ltd. “The team have pushed the boundaries on what you would normally expect and created a different and unique party racing title whereby you really can’t take anything for granted!”

And winning is only part of the fun in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing! Each character has a specific All Star move such as Super Sonic, Banana Blitz and Tails Tornado, allowing a quick way for competitors to get back into the race! Power ups and weapons can also be collected around the tracks and used against the opposition to ensure they don’t become a threat to that number one position… Players can battle it out in single or multiplayer mode, allowing up to four friends to race in frantic split-screen action, or up to eight players to compete online in the ultimate racing showdown.

Can Amigo scramble Dr. Eggman? Will AiAi say bye-bye to Tails? Are you gonna be faster than Sonic? The race will start in 2010… For more information please visit: www.sega.com/sonicracing.

I got House of the Dead: Overkill

So, House of the Dead Overkill dropped to $30 on Amazon so I decided to go ahead and buy it. I first played House of the Dead back in the days of the Dreamcast, so it's been a while! But, I absolutely loved the old games so I had to have this one for sure!

XSEED Games announces Ju-On: The Grudge for Wii

Torrance, Calif., (May 22, 2009) –XSEED Games today announced that JU-ON: The Grudge is in development for Wii and scheduled for release in North America in October, 2009. The title is inspired by the Japanese classic horror movie, “JU-ON”, on which the American release of the hit horror film “The Grudge” was based upon. JU-ON: The Grudge for Wii is a “Haunted House Simulator” where accessibility and instant scares are given priority over all other game aspects, with the original creator of the movie, Takashi Shimizu, serving as a creative consultant to game development.

It is said that when a person dies with a deep and burning grudge, a curse is born. When an average housewife in Nerima, Japan, was murdered in a grisly fashion, it gave rise to a curse so powerful that it threatens to kill at a pace thought unimaginable before.

The curse manifests on those who encounter the curse by any means, such as entering the house or being in contact with somebody who was already cursed. Once Erika Yamada is exposed to the curse while searching for her dog in an abandoned warehouse, the entire Yamada family is put in grave danger as soon as she reunites with them at home. They must now face their individual challenges alone, and only by overcoming the curse together will their family truly be free again.

”Ever since I first heard about this unique concept, this is a game that I’ve been looking forward to,” said Jun Iwasaki, President of XSEED Games. “JU-ON: The Grudge makes quick scares accessible to anyone with a Wii, players can even hand the Wii Remote to their mother and enjoy watching her play and get scared.”

Using the Wii Remote as a flashlight, JU-ON: The Grudge has players move forward with the touch of a button and explore haunted areas such as an abandoned warehouse, a dimly-lit hospital, and a mannequin factory. Much like a haunted house, the player must proceed forward even after being frightened and running away from the initial threat. As much fun as it is to get scared, sometimes it’s even more fun to watch others play to observe their reactions. For instant gratification, grab a second Wii Remote and push buttons to make in-game events happen immediately to make the player jump and hate you forever.

XSEED Games partnered with AQ Interactive to secure the North American rights to publish and distribute JU-ON: The Grudge. The title is being developed by Feelplus and will be available October 2009 exclusively for Wii.

Well since we probably aren't going to get Fatal Frame IV from Nintendo/Tecmo, this game will be a nice experience!

Metroid Prime Trilogy for Wii announced

All Three Critically Acclaimed Games Now Feature Wii Remote Controls with Enhanced Presentation and In-Game Rewards

REDMOND, Wash., May 22, 2009 - Metroid™ Prime 3: Corruption set a new standard for first-person motion controls in video games. Now it's bringing those controls to the rest of the celebrated series, allowing players to experience the entire Metroid Prime story arc with the peerless precision of the Wii Remote™. Nintendo announces Metroid Prime Trilogy, a new premium three-game collection for the Wii™ console that bundles all three landmark Metroid Prime games onto one disc and revamps the first two installments with intuitive Wii Remote controls, wide-screen presentation and other enhancements. Metroid Prime Trilogy will be available exclusively for Wii on Aug. 24 at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

Each game maintains its original storyline and settings, but now Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2: Echoes let players use their Wii Remote to aim with precision as heroine Samus Aran. Based on the breakthrough control system that debuted in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, these new Wii controls bring an entirely new level of immersion and freedom to these milestone games.

"Metroid Prime Trilogy puts the best first-person adventures all in one place, with a host of new additions that make these three timeless titles more engaging than ever," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "A great deal of care and detail has gone into Metroid Prime Trilogy, providing longtime fans with new ways to experience the games they love."

All three games now reside on a single disc. Players can access the game they want from a unified main menu that ties together all three adventures. Through a new unlockables system, players can gain access to in-game rewards such as music and artwork by accomplishing objectives across all three games.

Metroid Prime Trilogy was developed by Retro Studios and Nintendo, the same developers that created the original games for the Nintendo GameCube™ and Wii systems.

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com.

For more information about Metroid Prime Trilogy, visit www.Metroid.com.

Well, this is why the New Play Control! Metroid Prime Wiimakes haven't been announced, is because Nintendo is going to release all 3 games for the Wii in a trilogy pack on August 24th for the bargain price of $50.

This kinda makes me mad because I bought Metroid Prime 3: Corruption at launch...but barely played it. Now this is coming out and it's like wow...could've saved money.

I'm also disappointed that this is what Retro Studios has been working on the whole time? I mean where are the new games...seriously?

Anyway, here is your source...those bastards at IGN who teased a secret Nintendo game and it turns out to be this: http://wii.ign.com/articles/985/985793p1.html

Nintendo Steps Up the Pace with Personal Trainer: Walking

REDMOND, Wash., May 20, 2009 - It’s no secret that the Nintendo DS™ system offers great ways to have fun while on the move. With the May 26 launch of the Personal Trainer™: Walking game, Nintendo is inviting consumers to turn their most basic daily movements into an enriching, entertaining experience. Whether they walk for fitness or simply to get from place to place, people of all ages and backgrounds can use Personal Trainer: Walking to monitor and enhance their daily walking routines.

Personal Trainer: Walking is the latest entry in the popular software series that also includes Personal Trainer: Cooking and Personal Trainer: Math. After counting, measuring and recording users’ steps throughout the day, Personal Trainer: Walking creates an engaging series of charts and activities to reveal interesting - or even surprising - “life rhythm” patterns. For instance, the readout might show that a user is most active in the evening, or that mealtimes are typically followed by sedentary periods. Knowing these patterns can help people keep an eye on their plans for the day and watch out for pitfalls of inactivity. People also can rate the kind of day they had or set daily walking goals to improve the quality of their lives. Whether it’s used individually or with family and friends, Personal Trainer: Walking provides a fun, interactive way for people to monitor their walking lifestyle.

“Walking is by far America’s favorite physical activity,” said walking expert Mark Fenton. “It’s low cost, safe and can be done just about anywhere and anytime. In my experience, what people really need is motivation - something that inspires them and helps them to be active every day and see the progress they have made. For many people, Personal Trainer: Walking is just the thing to keep them motivated and having fun with walking.”

“Whether you walk for pleasure or exercise, Personal Trainer: Walking will keep track of your movements and help you set goals for yourself,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “Like Wii Sports and Wii Fit, Personal Trainer: Walking is about combining fun features and technology with physical activity. It gives everyone an engaging way to enjoy the benefits of walking.”

Two Activity Meter accessories are included with each copy of Personal Trainer: Walking. Unlike ordinary pedometers, Activity Meters count and record steps during a given period of time and can be synced to send data wirelessly to a Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi™ system, where each user’s personal step data is converted into visual displays of interesting statistics. Users can track their walking activity over time. Activity Meters can store up to seven days’ worth of information, and the Nintendo DS game card can keep track of up to five years’ worth of downloaded data. Up to four people can store their individual results on a single Personal Trainer: Walking game card. Users can even get their pet dogs into the action by attaching an Activity Meter to their dog’s collar.

Personal Trainer: Walking is the first Nintendo DS game that allows users to import customized Mii™ characters from the Wii™ console, or design a Mii character from scratch when creating game profiles. It’s one of the many ways that Nintendo turns an ordinary activity like walking into a fun daily adventure. As users accumulate walking data, they can incorporate their recorded steps into fun activities. “Illuminate” invites users to brighten up a virtual town, while “Walk the World” transforms footsteps into iconic images of interesting locations around the globe. With Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection, users who have wireless broadband Internet access can upload their data and team with other users for a “Space Walk,” reaching faraway planets virtually by combining their step totals.

Personal Trainer: Walking is rated E for Everyone and is available May 26 at a suggested retail price of $49.99. For more information about Personal Trainer: Walking, visit www.PersonalTrainerWalking.com.

My E3 Predictions

As with most other websites, I am going to writing up my predictions for E3 this year. I expect this E3 to be much better than last years pathetic event.

Predictions:

Disaster: Day of Crisis (it still has a chance. Nintendo recently trademarked Card Hero which is an old DS game, so they can decide to release this any time they want)

Sin & Punishment 2 detailed (possible release date but you know how Nintendo doesn't reveal that until 2 months before the game is released)

Trace Memory R announced (this is really just me hoping NoA will in good faith release it here)

Pikmin 3 information (possibly a trailer...but I can't see this being Nintendo's big Wii game for Holiday 2009)

More New Play Control titles. (Kind of a give me...Pikmin 2, and Metroid Prime 1 & 2...possibly Chibi-Robo)

Maybe Takt of Magic and some of the other games from the October 2008 Conference will appear?

Mario & Luigi 3 (This is a give me, the first two games were released here and it is a Mario game)

Card Hero for DS. (With the recent trademark of the game in the US, it wouldn't surprise me.)

A new DSi specific game that takes advantage of the DSi camera. I really can't imagine any of Nintendo's flagship series being used in this. I have a feeling this is probably what Miyamoto's secret project is about.

Made in Ore (dubbed by fans as WarioWare Myself. The game lets you create your own minigames in WarioWare style.)

3D Picross (Planet Puzzle League was released so this is obvious. Will probably be under Touch Generations)

Professor Layton 2 (It was confirmed by a producer at Level 5 that they were working on a localization of the 2nd game. Nintendo has yet to comment on it but with the recent sells influx of the title, I think it's a safe bet)

Wishful Thinking:

Project HAMMER (Makes it's return due to Wii MotionPlus. Nintendo never officially cancelled it, and some of the past people said it was only shelved. Famitsu went so far as to claim it was cancelled. I expect to hear something about it sometime this year if not at E3)

Mario Wii game announced(Mario Galaxy 2 would be nice. Miyamoto seems to tease us about it a lot. But there is only a slim chance this will happen)

StarFox Wii game announced (We haven't had a new game in a few years. With Wii MotionPlus being released, imagine how accurate the flying controls could be!)

Kirby Wii game announced (It keeps appearing on Nintendo's list, ever since the original was announced on the Gamecube 4 or 5 years ago.)

Zelda Wii game announced (Wii MotionPlus control will be more than likely implemented since Link uses a sword.)

Virtual Console for the DSi. (Everyone wants it, but Nintendo has stated they have yet to discuss something of that nature.)

SomaBringer, Glory of Hercules, and Fossil Diggers announced. (The fans want them, and with Nintendo recently localizing older DS games such as Starfy and the trademark for Card Hero, it is very possible that we may get one of these games)

Elite Beat Agents 2 (With iNiS finished with Lips, maybe we will see a new game in the series?)

Band Brothers DX (Reggie talked about the game a few months ago along with Girls Mode. If they struck a deal with a major record label it's possible it'll be released.)

I got Punch-Out!!

Well, Punch-Out!! for Wii is out today and all of you should go buy it. We need more hardcore games on the Wii, and this is definitely a great one! Maybe I'll give impressions on it later after I've had a go around with the game. I know it is one of the games I've been looking forward to for the Wii this year, so hopefully it's fun!

NEW PUNCH-OUT!! GAME FOR WII PACKS A NOSTALGIC WALLOP

Classic Franchise Returns to the Ring with Motion Controls, Multiplayer Action and New Surprises

REDMOND, Wash., May 18, 2009 - Today the world of video game boxing returns to its roots with the launch of the new Punch-Out!!™ game for Nintendo's Wii™ console. The game brings immersive motion controls to an iconic franchise that has been around since the days of the NES™. Players are invited to step into the ring as underdog Little Mac as they go toe-to-toe with an array of memorable characters, including familiar faces like Glass Joe, King Hippo and Don Flamenco.

The motion-sensitive Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers turn the swings players make in real life into on-screen punches. Both novice and veteran gamers can pick up Punch-Out!! and punch their way to the top. The optional Wii Balance Board™ accessory (sold separately with Wii Fit™) can be added to provide an extra challenge for advanced players who want to literally bob and weave through their fights. For those who insist on old-school Punch-Out!! purity, the game also can be played with classic NES-style controls by turning the Wii Remote controller sideways.

Even players who have battled through the original games hundreds of times will find new challenges with Punch-Out!! for Wii. For instance, once Little Mac (with the help of trainer Doc Louis) has pummeled his way through all the contenders, they return to offer him new challenges in Title Defense Mode. Only this time, their traditional weaknesses have been eliminated and players must find new ways to achieve victory. In this mode, the once-harmless Glass Joe now wears headgear, and King Hippo's vulnerable belly is protected behind a manhole cover. The new twists ensure fans enjoy a completely new play experience.

For the first time in the Punch-Out!! series, a head-to-head multiplayer mode lets players compete against one another. Both players take on the role of Little Mac and match wits as they trade uppercuts, jabs and body blows. With a series of well-placed punches, Little Mac transforms into the gargantuan Giga Mac, who can land more powerful blows and is more difficult to take down.

"Punch-Out!! is back, keeping all the charm of the original while delivering a knockout punch with new twists to experience and enjoy," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "As part of one of Nintendo's most storied franchises, this new Punch-Out!! game will surprise and delight fans with even more ways to enjoy its timeless game play."

Remember that Wii features parental controls that let adults manage the content their children can access. For more information about this and other Wii features, visit Wii.com.

I got New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat

Well, I rushed to Best Buy like 15 minutes before closing time to pick up New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat for the Wii. Before you criticize me for doing so, I never owned this game on the Gamecube. If I did I wouldn't be rebuying it for the Wii in the first place. Like all New Play Control games, it has a reversible boxart, so you don't have to have all that ugly border on your game.

Anyway, the reason I wanted this game is because it is a platformer, and it was made by Nintendo's EAD Tokyo studio, the people behind Super Mario Galaxy, the best platformer of all time (and my favorite 3D Mario game!)

Arc Rise Fantasia - 4th Trailer

Wow, this game looks really awesome. I'm not really into RPG's but I may have to pick this one up upon it's US release. XSEED Games is publishing it in the US, so I expect it sometime this fall at the earliest.

Card Hero being localized by Nintendo of America?

Well, I think filing a trademark with US patent office would qualify as a confirmation of the game being localized. The game was released in Japan back in December 2007. If I recall correctly, Reggie Fils-Aime or someone else at Nintendo of America said that Card Hero would never be localized...and what is this trademark about huh? In your face, Reggie! E3 is coming up next month (Nintendo's conference is June 2nd), so hopefully we'll get some confirmation there!
