I got Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

I finally received my copy of Zero: Tsukihami no Kamen, aka Fatal Frame 4: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse for the Wii. It shipped from Play-Asia on Nov. 27th, and it just arrived today...almost a whole month later! I was really angry that it took so long to arrive, but I guess I can let Play-Asia slide this time.

After all last year I ordered a game and it shipped on Dec. 12th, and it still arrived just before Christmas. The economy has grown very crummy and airmail shipments are significantly impacted with delays as there are fewer flights.

Anyway I played what I guess was the intro chapter (and I don't even know Japanese). I managed to use the camera obscura on the first ghost! I can't wait for the translation patch to be out so I can fully enjoy the game!

Beat Disaster: Day of Crisis

Well I just finished Disaster: Day of Crisis. I know it seems like I did it very fast, but I've been playing it everyday since I got it. It's just such a good game! Nintendo of America is very foolish for not bringing this game over. The hardcore will love it, and I think the casuals would even give it a chance due to it's [mostly] easy control scheme.

I love the atmosphere, it is totally what you would expect in a disaster type film. I mean I actually started dreaming about the game. I went through Hurricane Ike back in September last year, and the winds in the game were like the winds in real life. It was very scary and stuff, but we got lucky we didn't live in Galveston.

Anyway, I definitely do recommend Disaster: Day of Crisis for importing. If you need help with setting up the homebrew, just give me a buzz and I'll be there eagerly. I just don't get why Nintendo sent this game out to not do well, when it really is an awesome game!

I hope for a sequel ^.^

I got Disaster: Day of Crisis (PAL)

Last week I decided to import a European copy of Disaster: Day of Crisis for the Wii. It only cost me $49.20, and I got it from Game.co.uk. It took less than a week for it to arrive, so they are an awesome site!

I came to the conclusion that the game Disaster: Day of Crisis is probably never going to come to the US for several reasons, which I state below:

-With all of the natural disasters that have been occuring in the US lately, I think Nintendo of America is worried that people will shun them.

-The game bombed in Japan, Europe, and Australia (despite getting a good review from Famitsu)

-It is already March, and games we didn't even know about have been announced with release dates, but no mention of Disaster: Day of Crisis. (Ex. Excitebots & Starfy)

Anyway, here is the European version of Disaster: Day of Crisis pictured below:

Even if the game does come out later on, that's Nintendo's loss for taking too long to release it in the US.

Beat Captain Rainbow!

I finally beat Captain Rainbow! The game isn't very long; my finishing time was about 15 hours or so. I really found the story to be interesting even though I pretty much don't know what was being said. If you have homebrew on your Wii, I definitely recommend this as an import title to play.

Helping obscure Nintendo characters that I never really knew about made it kind of interesting, as well as funny with having to help Birdo with it's dilemma.

However, once you beat the game and save after the credits, you can no longer play your save file at all, which is kind of annoying. I mean I could've saved it in a different slot, but why do I need to go play it again? There isn't really anything you need to complete in the game, so I'm considering it finished.

This wasn't a review, but if I had to rate Captain Rainbow, I would give it an 80% for being unique and interesting!

I am really considering importing this game. I have no idea if SEGA will bother releasing the game in the US, and it looks really fun for a mini-game like collection. Also, the music is just awesome! Plus it's only $50 to import it, but if SEGA brings it to the US after I imported it, it's going to make me angry. It is however an awesome game though!

I just bought the skip/Nintendo game Captain Rainbow for the Wii from Play-Asia for only $30. Captain Rainbow most likely won't come out in the US because it doesn't have western appeal, and it features Birdo's gender discussion. In Japan, Birdo is a transexual, in the US it is simply female.

Recently I started dabbling in homebrew on the Wii, and I played a few homebrew games like a homebrew Duck Hunt. I also played a DVD on my Wii, proving that the Wii doesn't need a hardware update to play DVD's on it. Homebrew is a blast, but the only reason I really wanted it is so I can play import Wii games. I doubt I'll be importing most games since most get released. But the really niche one's wont be released, and if I want them, I'm gonna have to import them and play them in Japanese.

At one point I was considering importing Disaster: Day of Crisis from Europe, but recently it was revealed that the game is announced for the US. There is no release date yet to my disappointment however.
